ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC

The first thing your Chiropractor will do after greeting you will be to give you an opportunity to discuss the reasons for your being there. The Chiropractor will take a full case history, not just about what may have brought you to the clinic but also about your past health history. This allows for a more accurate overall health picture and determines whether you may or may not need referral to your GP or other healthcare practitioner.

Your chiropractor will begin your first consultation by taking a full case history. Then you will be given standard orthopaedic and neurological tests and the movement of your spine and joints will be checked. If x-rays are necessary to assist the diagnosis, arrangements will be made for these to be taken at a local hospital. All British Chiropractic Association chiropractors are trained and qualified to take and interpret x-rays.

As well as using manipulation, your chiropractor may use ice or heat treatment, or other techniques, having explained exactly how they work.

More and more people are benefiting from chiropractic care because they want a natural approach to health, minimising the need for drugs, painkillers or surgery.

Following a thorough examination, chiropractors diagnose then treat using specific manipulation by hand of the spine, joints and muscles.
